The Scripture

Joshua 1:9 NIV

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.

The Reflection

I once heard a story about Satan’s most used tool: discouragement. He uses it on everyone. Convincing us that we are worthless before we even attempt to fulfill God’s plan. Don’t allow Satan to deceive you into believing his lies. You are a Child of God, and the Lord is with you wherever you go.

This verse was written in the context of Joshua fulfilling a prophecy that God had promised long before. His ministry was one that required skills and abilities that exceeded his current abilities. He had to step out in faith to overcome the many challenges he faced. But the Lord prepared him, and met him exactly where He was to fulfill His prophecy. Joshua had big shoes to fill after Moses passed away, and God had a big plan for his life.

God has a big plan for your life, and He is preparing you today to step into those big shoes.
