The Valley
Day 37 - Isaiah 40:11 NIV
Scripture
Isaiah 40:11 NIV
He tends his flock like a shepherd: He gathers the lambs in his arms and carries them close to his heart; he gently leads those that have young.
Reflection
I love this verse.
When I lost my 13-year-old soul dog, I was devastated. There were so many overwhelming things already going on in my life, and he was the highlight of most of my days. My physical source of joy and unconditional love. He was so special to me, and after he passed, all I could think about was how much I wanted to hold him right next to my heart. I would’ve walked through fire to hold him one more time.
In my grief, I stumbled on this verse, and it put into perspective how deeply my Father loves me.
Sometimes, when we’re in the valley, we can lose sight of how much God loves us. Even though our trials are necessary to carry out our purpose, our Father would walk through fire to hold His children close to His heart.
He loves you so much! He will never abandon you or lead you astray. As we suffer, He suffers with us. As we mourn, He mourns with us.
So when the enemy is whispering in your ear… I hope you remember this verse. Remember that He carries you close to His heart.
Prayer
Father, I am so grateful for this verse. Thank You for always finding a way to speak to Your children. When the drought has left me feeling unable to carry on, I am blessed to have a God who carries me through. You hold me and comfort me when I am lost. You whisper to me… “just be held.” Please forgive me when I can’t feel Your presence, and I doubt Your love. Thank You for giving me a new perspective. In Jesus name I pray, amen.
