Day 16 - Psalm 63:7
Scripture
Psalm 63:7 NIV
Because you are my help, I sing in the shadow of your wings.
Reflection
I don’t know about you, but I was not blessed with the most beautiful singing voice. I love to sing and be silly when I’m at home in my comfort zone, but when it comes to praise and worship at church ... I tend to be a little quiet.
One day, the Lord reminded me that all of Heaven is rejoicing and singing praises with me. I am part of a heavenly choir, and my voice blends perfectly.
The funny thing about worship is that it isn’t about me. It’s not about my voice, or my favorite worship song, or how I like to honor Him. It’s not about my comfort—it’s about worshiping Jesus. It’s about worshiping Him in a way that He wants to be worshiped. Honoring Him, by lifting my hands or falling on my face, raising my voice or quietly whispering the words as I’m overtaken with love.
Some of the most beautiful moments I have had with Jesus are when I am all alone in my house or car, listening to praise and worship. Sometimes a song just strikes a chord, and my emotions flood in. With a shaky and broken voice, a heavy heart, and tears streaming down my face, I cry out to Him for help. I let God and the music simultaneously soothe my aching soul.
So no matter where you are, or what season you’re in ... lift up your voice, sing to the King of kings. He deserves to hear your praise. Sing like there’s no one next to you. Lift up your hands or fall to your knees. Get lost in the moment with God. Because one day, we will be in the presence of our Heavenly Father, and all we will want to do is worship Him for all of eternity.
Prayer
Father, You are worthy of all our praise! I am so blessed to freely worship the King of kings, Lord of lords, the Most High God. Please help me let go of any reservations I have about praise and worship. Find me in those moments and fill me up with Your love. Overwhelm my heart and consume my soul. Connect with me and allow me to feel just a glimpse of Your glory. Please forgive me when I am too worried about what others think to be in the moment with You. Forgive me when I just go through the motions. Deliver me from any spirit that hinders me from letting down my guard, and cover me with your peace each and every time I sing your praises. I thank You in advance, and I ask all these things in Jesus’ name, amen.

What a lovely reminder to sing at the top of our lungs for the lord! This has been something i have been actively working on when im at church recently. Putting my ego down and praising Him! A great read. Amen
