The Peak
Day 49 - 2 Corinthians 3:17
The Scripture
2 Corinthians 3:17 ESV
Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.
The Reflection
There is freedom in letting go. Let go of the plans you had for your life. Let go of what you thought it would look like. Let go of the expectations you have placed on yourself. Let go of what others think about you or what the world sees as success. Let go of the worries that consume you and the fear that dictates your thoughts.
Someone once explained it to me in a way that I will never forget. He said giving your problems to God and then obsessing over them in your daily life is like casting your line out and immediately reeling it back in. We shouldn’t cast our fears and worries on Him and go right back to stressing about it. We have to leave it there and really trust Him to provide.
Let Him be the way-maker. There is nothing more freeing than believing in your heart that the King of Kings has got you. So pray about it and let it be. Rest in the freedom of knowing that it’s not on your shoulders. Take life one day at a time and live in the moment. Notice the blessings of today without worrying about the troubles of tomorrow.
Let go and let God.
The Prayer
Father, thank You for the freedom that You’ve given me. Thank You for bearing the weight of my worries. Please give me peace over the situations I can’t control and the strength to change the things I can. Teach me to stand on the authority You have given me and take dominion over every space You’ve assigned to me. Give me discernment over the decisions that need to be made. Help me to see the blessings of each day and lay my worries at your feet. Forgive me for doubting You and trying to control everything in my own power. I ask that You remove every spirit of control, worry, anxiety, fear, pride, and any other spirit that is not pure, holy, and from You, Lord. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
