The Falls
Day 95 - Revelation 21:4
Scripture
Revelation 21:4 ESV
He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.
Reflection
Society tells us that life is more satisfying when we do what we want. Live for yourself, self-care, self-love, etc. But truthfully, this will leave you feeling empty and more confused than ever. It’s heartbreaking to think about how many people will fall into this trap and miss out on the joy that comes from looking outside yourself. Jesus wasn’t constantly focused on Himself. He intentionally spent His short time on earth helping people.
There is so much joy in salvation and growing in your relationship with God. He will teach you how to look outside your selfish desires and use your God-given talent and ambitions for His purpose. There is peace in surrender, and there is fulfillment in His path.
There will be suffering in this lifetime. But our feelings are deceiving, and our time here is just a drop in the bucket when it comes to eternity. I love that God is so clear about what to expect when He calls us home. Our hearts will be so full, and we will truly be at peace. One day, we won’t even remember all of the pain and heartbreak we feel in this life.
Prayer
Father, my soul longs to be with You. I can’t wait for the day that I am in Your presence. Thank You for being my hope and comfort on this Earth. Please remind me that my painful moments are only temporary. My mourning will soon be met with pure and everlasting joy. Until that day, fill me with the Holy Spirit. Overwhelm me with Your love, peace, and joy. Send Your mighty angels to stand at every corner or every room in my home, to walk with me, and cover me in protection. Guide my path, Lord. Remove anything that separates me from You. Open my heart and heal my soul wounds. Teach me how to serve others in love and honor You in all that I do. Thank You, Jesus. In Your precious and holy name I pray, amen.
